On January 12th 2024 news broke out that head coach of the New England Patriots Bill Belichick and the organization have parted ways and made the team start the search of finding a new person for the head coaching job. 

They already found the replacement for their head coaching job as they hired Jerod Mayo to be their new head coach on January 17th. Mayo who was previously the linebacker coach for the patriots has been placed as Belichick’s successor and is the start of the patriots future.

Bill Belichick who was the Head coach of the New England Patriots for 24 seasons brought a ton of winning seasons to the organization and made them the team to beat. Coach Belichick’s resume is so elite as well fan’s around the world, including myself, believe that Belichick might go down as the greatest coach of all time. 

Belichick has been known for being at the top of the coaching list for years. He has shown that he is worth the title by attending multiple conference championships, and superbowls. In his coaching career with the Patriots organization he coached the team to 6 super bowl wins most of all time by a coach. 

Then he also leads the NFL all time with super bowl appearances which is 9 and many other accolades to certify himself in the greatest of all time talk with other amazing coaches like John Madden, and Bill Parcells.  

Coach Belichick’s best decision ever though as a coach is drafting Quarterback Tom Brady. Under his coaching Brady would become the greatest player to ever step foot on the field putting up video game numbers for a career and flat out dominating the league as a New England Patriot making them a dynasty to beat, but the patriots dynasty can’t go on forever.

In recent seasons, the New England Patriots have been on a slight decline in terms of performance and playoff eligibility. Ever since the legendary Quarterback Tom Brady left, the Patriots have struggled to fill the void that he left behind.

However, Belichick remained with New England after Brady’s trade to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, still fighting to make the Patriots that dominant team to beat. Unfortunately, Tom Brady is and was a diamond in the rough, and not too many players can lead a team to success as much as he did along with Coach Belichick.

After Tom Brady’s departure, the New England Patriots faced challenges in finding a suitable replacement at the Quarterback position. Several Quarterbacks were tried, including Cam Newton, but inconsistency and offensive struggles persisted. The team grappled with adapting to a new Quarterback dynamic and offensive system, contributing to a period of adjustment and performance issues. 

Now after Belichick’s departure from the team fans around the NFL now believe the dynasty that once ruled the NFL for so long has finally collapsed. This puts a lot of pressure on the new coach and team as they have shoes to fill for the upcoming season for the organization.
