CCSD to continue online education through remainder of the year

All Nevada schools will remain online for the rest of the 2019-2020 school year in the state’s continued effort to stop the spread of COVID-19,  Governor Steve Sisolak announced today at 5 p.m.

“In line with the federal government criteria, and after extensive discussions with superintendent Ebert, I have made the difficult decision to continue educating our students through distance learning for the rest of the school year,” Sisolak said. “We will continue our efforts to support teachers, staff and students and families throughout the rest of the academic year.”

The traditional school year is scheduled to finish May 20, and all students are expected to continue their participation in online school. Graduation for the class of 2020 is postponed and will be organized by high school principals when it is safe to do so, according to Superintendent Jesus Jara.
