Homecoming spirit was in the air the week of 10-16-10/20 with so many fun dress up days bringing out our inner child and our school pride. With tension building up for the football game and homecoming itself, students got the chance to partake in dress up days to add onto the upcoming excitement. With many fun days ranging from showing our favorite colleges and dressing up as our favorite villains and heroes, what do our students think? How did it affect everyone’s week? And which day was the best? Let’s take a look
MJ James happily participated in the week of homecoming, and says his favorite dress up day was heroes vs villains! He dressed as Jafar from “Aladdin” with a nice black and red colorway, and also a hat.
“I was just excited to go to school with this fit on because Aladdin is one of my favorite movies but I don’t be telling anybody, but yea it was cool seeing everyone else in their outfits too because it didn’t make me feel like i was the only one doing it.”
As you can see, this was MJ’s favorite dress up day, and he had a fun time participating. Now coming from a more broader view, what are thoughts on how this week affected our students and their enjoyment?
Aaron Yu comments, “It was just nice to look forward to all the events towards the end of the week like homecoming and the assembly. The days just made it better in a way because it made the week go by faster.” Obviously Yu had only positive thoughts to share, and you can really see the way it impacted him positively and simple way. Something as interesting as dress up days can just boost someone’s whole week.
Michael Bonilla shares similar thoughts, commenting on how the dress up days added a bit more excitement to his week.
“I thought the dress up days were cool, my favorite was the heroes vs villains, even though I didn’t participate. It was cool seeing people in their costumes.” This spirit day was a favorite among many students!
“My week went by fast and it was fun because there was the assembly, the football game and homecoming, I went to all three and it was just an overall good week.” Bonilla adds.
All in all, only positive thoughts have been shared about Spring Valley’s homecoming spirit week. From dressing up to long weeks being enjoyed, it was most definitely a success!
