With the iPhone 15 dropping into the market, many wonder if this is a joke from Apple. Students of Spring Valley seem to dislike this move from Apple, mentioning how it looks just like a copy and paste. However, some say that the new additions included make it worth the high price point.
Some of the many features Apple has added is the new action button. Apple has replaced the silent switch with the new action button, thus giving users a chance to customize. In the settings app, users can set their actions button to a shortcut or even a voice memo. The ability to change camera lenses gives users a set zoom when opening their camera. With up to a 1.5x zoom, people won’t have to worry about zoom in as much when taking photos. Also with its 48 MP camera, photos will have a much higher resolution and thus a much more detailed photo. Apple has included the new A16 chip which is a lot faster compared to the A15 chip last year. This new chip allows for more data to be moved. This is especially for online games for performance and displays.
“My initial thoughts on the new iPhone 15 are disappointing to say the least, “said Junior Byan Bustos Santana. “Though the new features like the action button are cool and all, it just doesn’t seem to be worth the $800 price point.”
“For me, the iPhone 15 looks really good on paper,” said Senior Ryan Grave. “The functions are cool and all,and I would say the price is worth it if you are in the market for a phone.”
Some physical changes made to the iPhone are much more rounded corners as well as a lighter feel. Many users of previous models commented on how sharp the edges feel even with the rounded off edges. Apple has fixed this issue with smoothing off the edges to give a better feel for users. Regarding the iPhone 15 pro, titanium was used in the building. This is for a much lighter feel for users while still having the durability of its predecessors.
“As an android user, I see these features as a joke for a phone,” said Junior Brandon Chacon Arteaga. “All these features are just a cover up for the obvious flaws like, a weak back glass and a mediocre camera.”
“I really do like what Apple is experimenting with with the cameras and the actual frameworks itself,” said Senior Hannah He. “Even though I am not in the market for one, I would recommend this to anyone looking for an upgrade to their iPhone.”
Apple creating a new model after the other should not be a surprise for any of us. Their yearly tradition of updating their models and slapping a number after doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. Who knows what new features and cameras the future iPhone will have.
