A Night in Paris Prom 2022

Prom season is approaching, with students asking each other with crazy promposals and the anticipation of an in person in dance since Covid. Spring Valley hosts its first prom after two years since covid and with this prom season approaching many students are excited by showing crazy promposals for this year’s “Night in Paris.
Students can find themselves at the STRAT hotel on May 7th starting at 7pm to enjoy their “Night in Paris”with a beautiful view of Las Vegas on the side.For the first time since the pandemic, Spring Valleyis having its first normal prom since the 2019 school year. The school is being more lenient compared to the homecoming dance from earlier this school year, allowing students to invite other students attending a different CCSD school.Students can purchase their tickets for $75 at the banker.
“I’m excited but I don’t know if anyone else is excited. I loved prom at the STRAT last time, I enjoyed the views, the food, and the rides,” Student Council Advisor Ms. Haun said. “I hope the students will be excited for the normal prom. I think it’s a great venue and there’s so much to do other than just dancing.”
To get students ready for prom, the student council has planned a fun filled spirit week starting May 2nd. Starting off the week with “Mime Monday,” students can wear black and white and Tuesday as “The Day of Love,” where students can wear red. Wednesday is to show Disney pride for EuroDisney and May the Fourth be with you. Thursday is “Pair Us Day,” so students can wear matching outfits with their friends! To the end of the week, Friday is “Get That Baguette Day.” Putting the students in an excited mood for their first normal prom on this Paris themed night.
“Being a part of Student Council and planning prom is really amazing because you get to make the posters and actually pick the theme for prom,” Senior Kasie Murata said. “It makes me feel really excited but also stressed because of the work that we have to do to make sure everything comes together.”
Students are thrilled to be given the opportunity of taking part in a normal in person prom since Covid has started. Along with students being excited about the results of prom court, being able to vote for who they would like to see as prom royalty. Seniors Leilani Abalos, Jessica Bui, Layla Holden, Deasean Moreno, Chelsea Murray, and Miguel Torres.
“I was honestly really surprised to actually have been nominated for prom court! I sent the form to my friends as a joke, and told them to ‘vote for me,’” Senior Miguel Torres said. “I am extremely honored that they actually did. Now I’m seeing how far I can go on this journey, but I’m honestly content with just being able to attend prom at all.”
