The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) offers High School Seniors in the Las Vegas Metropolitan area the opportunity to fly up to Reno for one day to learn more about the University.

For Senior Autumn Jett, the trip allowed her to tour UNR and compare it to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).

“I don’t feel that UNLV has that university feel to it. It feels like another collection of buildings in Las Vegas.” Autumn Jett told The Grizzly Growler. “[UNR] has a lot of big, new buildings, and has a university feel.”

For Senior Sara Melese, the fly-up program provided her with valuable information about UNR, and weigh her in-state college options.

“I’d recommend it to any senior because it’s educational and it’s nice to see the other [university] options that are in-state.” Senior Sara Melese said. “If you want a different setting, and don’t want to limit yourself to [Las] Vegas, then I’d definitely recommend going on the trip because UNR has a beautiful campus and the professors seemed really nice.”

Interested in flying up to Reno? The fly-up program costs $99.00, and the fee includes round-trip airfare, shuttles while in Reno, campus tours, and lunch.
