Happy Bones Day
The question “Bones or no bones?” has flooded school hallways as of late. Parents wonder what this new TikTok trend brings. Will chaos ensue just as it did during the last “Devious Lick” trend? Will it include harmful dares? Will it cause detriment to their educational lives? Rest assured, the “Bones or no bones?” is about as harmful as it’s muse, Noodle the pug.
Daily horoscopes based on zodiac signs are out of fashion and a 13 year old pug is in. Jonathan Graziano, known as @jongraz on TikTok, posts daily readings of his pug. Some days Noodle will wake up refreshed and stand up, which is known as a “bones” day. However, if Noodle wakes up and goes “boneless” and flops on Graziano, it is a “no bones” day.
To be clear, Noodle has bones, but some days he doesn’t feel like using them. No bones days mean that you don’t have to use your bones that day either. You have the freedom to flop on the couch and assume Netflix binge-watching position. Bones days are for getting stuff done. They mean that people should take on the day and finally get on top of that homework that has been sitting on a desk for two weeks.
“Obviously, a bones day is a day to celebrate…No bones days? I don’t think they’re bad days. I think they are days where you just need to be very kind to yourself, sensitive of others, wear your sweatpants, take a bubble bath, self-care. That kind of thing. That’s certainly how Noodle handles his no bones days.” said Graziano in an interview with the New York Times.
Many people have different opinions on which day is better. For some, “bones” days are an opportunity for fresh starts and importance. For others, a “bones” day may bring anxiety because they are expected to be productive. “No bones” days lack anticipation of something important to happen, and ease anxieties of those who woke up feeling as boneless as Noodle. “Bones” and “no bones” days are entirely up to the person, you interpret your fate.
