After a devastating loss in the first round of Playoffs on October 28, with a score of 30 to 0 against Clark High School, Spring Valley Varsity Football Players gathered eagerly to reclaim their equipment, once news was received that Clark had to forfeit.

Clark High School was removed from the Class 4A playoffs game, due to two of their players being ineligible while playing on Thursday evening and during previous games.

Spring Valley was reinstated into the next round of Playoffs, the state quarter finals. Occurring on Friday, November 5th at Silverado High School at 6 p.m.

“Our boys were extremely excited to have one more shot gifted to us,” says Senior Varsity Captain Carlos Reza. “It’s a lot of pressure riding on everyone to finally prove we aren’t just the doormat. Spring Valley is here to stay for coming years, we’ve tasted defeat, it’s time to taste victory.”

After the announcement, Varsity players who stayed after school were ecstatic to gather their belongings and return them to their lockers. Pads and equipment was distributed back to players and coaches are to return the remaining belongings to players tomorrow, before their returning practice.

Due to the forfeit loss for Clark, they finish their season with a record of 6-4. Hearts go out to the Clark High School players for their hard work being lost due to this misfortune.

For the first time in six seasons, Spring Valley made it to the second round of playoffs, occurring this Friday at Silverado High School at 6 p.m. Grizzly family is well-encouraged to come and support the team.
