LVMPD, CCSDPD investigate shots fired during DO Football Game
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, along with the Clark County School District Police Department are investigating what led up to shots being fired in a parking lot at Desert Oasis High School in southwest Las Vegas.
Shots rang out near the end of the football game between Sierra Vista and Desert Oasis. Witnesses told The Grizzly Growler that a fight broke out between juveniles, and that CCSDPD tried to break up the fight and disperse the crowd, but that their efforts were unsuccessful. It wasn’t until the shots were fired that the crowd dispersed.
“Someone fired a firearm into the air and fled the scene,” CCSDPD Sgt. Bryan Zink told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “School District police officers who were working the game along with Las Vegas police officers secured the area and to assess if anyone was injured.”
No injuries were reported, and police are still looking to identify any suspects.
