Week seven played similar to previous weeks for head varsity football coach Marcus Teal, assistant varsity football coach Robert Cutts, principal Tam Larnerd, and the grizzly community.
Both Teal and Cutts went 2-2, posting a 5-7 overall record through three weeks. Larnerd and the grizzly community went 1-3, recording a 4-8 and 2-6 record respectively. One game that stumped all of the experts and the community was the Seahawks-Cardinals nail biter that was moved to the sunday night slot due to the COVID scare on the Las Vegas Raiders.
“I don’t want to say that it was a better choice, but it turned out to be a better choice,” Teal said. “If the Bucs/Raiders played in that time slot, maybe it’s a closer game and maybe even a different result, but it worked out for the best!”
Colts @ Lions
Teal: “Tough game to pick. Both teams playing better and coming off come from behind wins last week. I like the Colts Defense better than the Lions Offense.”
Colts 23, Lions 17
Cutts: “Colts are coming off the bye week and have been fairly healthy compared to the rest of the league. The Lions have remained competitive in almost all of their games but their record is not great.”
Colts win 24-17
Larnerd: Lions 17-10
Grizzly Community: 54% in favor of the Colts
Patriots @ Bills
Teal: “Divisional games are always a crap shoot! The Bills are the up and comers, the Patriots are in a tailspin right now.
Bills 31, Patriots 17
Cutts: Patriot fans are so quick to claim that “the sky is falling” every time they lose a game. We will hear more of that after this week because no one circles the wagons like the Buffalo Bills.
Bills win 28-24
Larnerd: Bills 28-10
Grizzly Community: 53% in favor of the Patriots
Saints @ Bears
Teal: “A dome team (Saints) travels to the “frozen tundra of the North” (Bears). The Saints hall of fame QB shows why he is one of the best to play the position.”
Saints 17, Bears 10
Cutts: The Saints will be missing some key players on offense. The Bears are 5-2 on the year but their offense is bad. Nick Foles threw no TDs last week but threw two interceptions. The Saints go marching in and win.
Saints win 35-24
Larnerd: Saints 38-35
Grizzly Community: 85% in favor of the Saints
Cowboys @ Eagles
Teal: “These two teams play in the worst division in football! Could see a second tie for the Eagles, I will take the home team in this snooze-fest.”
Eagles 21, Cowboys 10
Cutts: “The NFC East is terrible. The fact that one of these teams will make the playoffs is a travesty. The Cowboys are on their third QB of the year with Ben DiNucci. The Eagles played an impressive game last week and Carson Wentz put up some great numbers.”
Eagles win 34-17
Larnerd: “Cowpies” 12-6
Grizzly Community: 64% in favor of the Cowboys
