After a dominating performance from Palo Verde pitcher Jaret Godman, the Grizzlies fell 6-0 in the first round of playoffs.
“We had multiple chances to cash in some runs but failed to come through,” third baseman Erik DuLittle, who had one of only two hits from the Grizzlies, said.
Godman threw a complete game shutout striking out 10. Junior Braxton Bruschke threw 5 ⅔ innings giving up 2 runs. Bruschke was relieved by senior Mitchell Otis, who gave up a 3 run home run to the left fielder for the Panthers Noah Williamson.
Two batters later the shortstop, Peyton Cole, homered and extended the lead 6-0 in the bottom of the sixth.
The Grizzlies will now face elimination tomorrow in a home game against the Arbor View aggies starting at 4 p.m.
“We just gotta come out with a positive mind set and swing the bat,” Catcher Jonathan Bakken said.
