It was “GAME ON” for Spring Valley students as they celebrated the schools seventh Homecoming. The monopoly themed week inspired games at lunch, a race-filled assembly and the Saturday dance where hoops and bean bag tosses were part of the action. The varsity football team tackled the Western High School Warriors in front of the cameras on Thursday Night Lights showdown on September 22. The score came out to 57-7 with the Grizzlies taking home yet another victory against the Warriors.
Homecoming royalty underclass were announced at the Thursday assembly. For juniors, Joe Gallagher, nominated by the cheer team, won Prince and from AVID, Jessica Corona. For sophomores, the winner was Jessica Gates, nominated by girl’s tennis, and Joey Padfield, who was nominated by men’s soccer. Freshmen nominations were from various clubs but the final winner was Kimberly Cuartas who was nominated by the Yearbook Club and Hale Homan who was nominated by Blue Crew.
At the dance, the seniors, Royce Rasmussen took the crown for king and was nominated by Cross Country, and Tori Patterson won queen. She was nominated on behalf of women’s volleyball.
