President of Key Club and notable member of the National Honor Society, Kristy Lam, is a truly inspirational person. She has been in Key Club for the last four years of high school and has played a key role in planning and executing Spring Valley’s Relay for Life fundraisers as the Logistics Chair for the last two years.
Relay for Life is a fundraiser to raise money for cancer research and treatments. Kristy estimated that in this year alone Spring Valley High School raised enough money to give 6,000 people cancer treatments!
“Being part of that change tugs on your heartstrings,” she said of her passion for Relay for Life. She is sad to be leaving Key Club, but she plans on continuing community service through the collegiate branch of Key Club: Circle K. She will be attending Boston College and majoring in advertising and communications. Kristy passionately said, “I want to be a part of something that changes the world.”
